Hypocrisy on Israel
In 2009, Grayson, an outspoken opponent of any kind of military action, voted to support Israel’s assault on the Gaza strip. His statement explaining his vote mentioned that he was Jewish. The war would ultimately kill 1,400 people, while Grayson would go on to still staunchly oppose other wars.
On May 30, Grayson introduced a bill that would remove federal funding for any college, public or private, that engaged in any kind of boycott of the Israeli government, economy or academia. The bill was accused of being an attack on civil liberties and repression of free speech.
Alan Grayson didn’t show up to a vote in August over whether the US should continue to fund Israel’s “Iron Dome” defense system. The “Iron Dome” is largely what has kept the Israeli people safe from Hamas rockets.
